Privacy
Effective October 20, 2026
ScentSquare is made and operated by ScentSignal. The ScentSignal Privacy Policy applies to this game. This page lists what is specific to ScentSquare.
What the game stores
- A device cookie. A random ID so your finished grids, scores and streaks can be kept and shown back to you. It is not shared with anyone and holds nothing about you.
- Your plays. For each grid you finish: which fragrances you placed, your score, and whether you gave up. Everyone's correct picks together make the pick percentages and rarity scores.
- Your email, if you enter it. Used only to send you a sign-in code and to join your plays across devices. We send that code with Resend. No newsletters from the game.
- Game state in your browser. The grid you are playing is kept in your browser's local storage so you can come back to it.
Analytics
We use PostHog to see how the game is played: pages viewed, guesses, completions, shares, and session recordings of the page with typed text masked. This is the same analytics setup ScentSignal uses, and it is used to improve the game, not for advertising.
Links to ScentSignal
Fragrances on the results page link to their ScentSignal pages. Those links carry a tag saying you came from ScentSquare; ScentSignal's own policy covers what happens there.
